The President of MXM Consulting, LLC, Michelle Mrdeza, was the first Staff Director of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security.  Providing federal appropriations to DHS since its inception, Ms. Mrdeza understands how DHS operates and how key decision makers within the Department and on Capitol Hill influence those operations. 

Ms. Mrdeza’s 22 years of experience on Capitol Hill provides a substantive and unique understanding of DHS operations and the political and financial environment that effect those operations.  MXM Consulting, LLC effectively analyzes and interprets the homeland security business environment, identifying opportunities and solutions to achieve and exceed client objectives. 

• 22 years on Capitol Hill, including 7 years on the Senate Budget Committee and 15 years on the House Appropriations Committee.
• Appointed the first Staff Director of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security.
• Staff Director of the Treasury, Postal Service and General Government Appropriations Subcommittee.
• Responsible for developing, implementing and directing all operations of the Subcommittee on Homeland Security since the inception of DHS.
• Substantive understanding of the Congressional budget and appropriations process, including Congressional priorities related to homeland security.
• Familiarity with senior management within DHS and the Congressional authorization and appropriations Committees.
• Public speaking to business groups interested in capitalizing on homeland security opportunities.
• Drafting appropriations bill and report language.
• Tracking Congressional authorization and appropriations cycles, including an analysis of legislative initiatives, how they translate into business opportunities, and their impact on private sector offerings.
• Maintains a TS/SCI security clearance.
